Ghana Rubber Estate Limited to start new Rubber Plant in Ghana

Posted on : 10 Apr, 2018

Ghana’s leading natural rubber producer – Ghana Rubber Estate Limited (GREL) plans to invest GH¢33 million to build a new rubber processing plant in Ghana.

The new project will be completed in two phases over 10 years’ time that includes the construction of a new rubber processing plant at Apimanin. GREL has already completed the viability studies and consultation with all the stakeholders for this project and it expects the first phase of the plant to be completed in 2019.

GREL has a concession of 20,279 ha of which 15,041 ha has been developed into rubber plantation in the Western, Central and Eastern regions of Ghana.

Despite low prices of rubber in the world market, the company is hopeful of having a successful rubber processing factory in Ghana.
