Mining prospects explored by international investors at Myanmar Mining Summit
The marked interest in Myanmar's mining sector was evident at the 1st Official Summit organized by CMT and Myanmar's Ministry of Mines in Yangon, the first of its kind in the nation. Close to 300 delegates including those from Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, Australia, US & Canada turned out at the 3.5 day event to hear official Opening address by His Excellency U Thein Htaik, Union Minister of Mines, and other talks by key authorities from the Ministry of Mines, Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), Department of Geological Survey & Mineral Exploration (DGSE) as well as presentations by representatives from the private sector to examine the investment climate and the opportunities in Myanmar's mining industry.
Business leaders from mining & exploration companies, to legal firms, risk management consultants, financial advisors, and other allied industries received an outline of Myanmar Investment & Mining Environment, information on structuring a JV & risk management, options on mining projects financing, and geological opportunities that the nation presents, via three specially designed value-added workshops.
Delegates also benefitted from a rare opportunity - a chance to interact with Myanmar Mining Officials through 1 to 1 meetings.
If you missed this inaugural summit, you would be delighted to hear that we will be hosting the next Mining Summit in Jan 2013.
