Xiao yang Peng
Xiaoyang obtained his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, and his master's degree in power engineering. He is now finishing his PhD in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). His research interests includes smart grid technologies, microgrid, renewable energy integration and power system analytics.
He joined ENGIE Lab Singapore in March, 2016. He is currently a research engineer working on smart grid area. Specifically, he is now working on project SPORE (Sustainable Powering of Off-grid REgions) within the ambitious international REIDS (Renewable Energy Integration Demonstrator-Singapore) initiative. REIDS is the largest hybrid microgrid initiative in the tropics. And within SPORE, ENGIE will build a multi-fluid micorgrid with different renewable energy sources (solar, wind, biogas and hydrogen) which will provide affordable electricity, green mobility and clean cooking for off-grid areas. ENGIE will also develop an energy management system to optimize the microgrid operation according to different key performance indicators.
