Mr. Henry Pease

Henry Pease currently works in RWE Supply & Trading's biofuels trading team. The team buys and sells biomass for internal and external customers. He has extensive experience of sourcing biomass from North America and Europe. He has worked closely on the conversion of Tilbury Power Station from coal to biomass, also with the RWE Essent team on co-firing biomass at the Amer Power Station in Holland, and potentially Lynemouth (UK) and Eemshaven (NL) too. He has developed new biomass supply markets including residential heat in Europe and industrial demand in Asia. Prior to joining RWE Henry developed and raised funding for a biomass CHP and wood pellet plant in Belgium. He has an MBA from the University of Virginia and a BSc from University College London.

Ms. Louisa Blair

Louisa joined Hawkins Wright in April 2015 from commodity price reporting agency Argus Media, where she was employed as a Deputy Editor on the company's weekly biomass market report. She started working in the industry in 2011 and has since developed expertise in the fields of wood pellet & chip trade, supply, pricing and policy. At Hawkins Wright, Louisa is a co-author of both Forest Energy Monitor and the Outlook for Wood Pellets, and she is also involved in the development of a new wood fibre multi-client service.

Louisa has also spent time working in the commercial side of the market, importing West African rubber wood chips into Europe for energy. She has a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Bath.

Raul have been involved in renewable energy since 1996 an my first contact was wind energy,, we developed first wind farm in the Baltic States that is still in operation.

Since 1999 I became involved in wood pellets and have seen the development of that market since the very early days.

In 2003 I was among the founders of Graanul Invest and have been CEO of that company since the beginning. Today we produce in the Baltics more than 2 million tons of pellets per year, own and operate 4 CHP plants and also have sizable investment portfolio in the forestland in Estonia.

Jan Groeneveld holds a master from Delft University of Technology and has some 15 years’ experience in sourcing and trading of Biomass within Uniper (previously E.ON). Over the past years having sourced the biomass for Uniper’s Biomass projects in UK (Ironbrige), France (Gardanne), Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands (Maasvlakte).

Kjell Nilsson have 30 years shipping and trading experience from the metal, mineral and biomass industry.He has held various managing position with mining,trading,insurance and shipping companies. Since 2008 he has been employed by Fortum responsible for the logistics and fuelstrategy project in respect of the new 330MW Biomass boiler 'CHP 8 Värtan' , Stockholm.

Kjell is also responsible for the pellets procurement to Fortum Sweden and Finland and the coordination of imported biomass to the Fortum group.

Andrey Chubatenko

Andrey Chubatenko has project management and finance background with strong focus on Global Renewable Energy projects, biomass in particular. Born in Ukraine, Andrey is a Graduate in International business from Kiev National Economic University since 2005. He worked in the financial sector during 2005-2012 with PNP Paribas, Castle finance, UA family office, being responsible for corporate finance and investment management with successful track record of building a portfolio over $ 300 mln in value. Since 2012 he has started own business in pellet production, heat supply, international biomass trade, miskanthus cultivation. In 2015 Andrey has joined Active Energy Group Plc where he is responsible for the Group’s project development in EU region.

Tiago Andrade is the founder of Wood Pellet Services (WPS), a Brokerage, Agency and Consultancy firm with a large portfolio of wood pellet supply under management.  

His early career in Portuguese multinationals gave him access to knowledge and contacts, particularly in the renewable sector.

In 2004 he identified the opportunity to create a wood pellet industry in Portugal, replicating this work in Spain in 2007. In 2010, WPS expanded its consultancy work to the Americas extending its brokerage/agency activities there in 2012.
