Mrs. Girardello heads the Starch and High Intensity Sweetener Team of LMC International Ltd. where she is responsible for LMC’s consultancy services and regular reports. She is the senior editor of LMC’s monthly publication Starch & Fermentation Analysis. Mrs. Girardello holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Verona (Italy), an MSc in Applied Statistics from the University of Oxford (UK) and an MSc in Horticulture from the University of Reading (UK).

Mr. Simon Bentley

Simon Bentley

Simon has 18 years of experience analysing and understanding commodity markets. He is a director of Commoditia, an advisory business based in Singapore focussed on supporting investors in, and traders and processors of South East Asian commodities.

Previously, as a Vice President of Invenio, part of Olam International, Mr Bentley led the research for a macro commodity fund trading agricultural commodity futures using fundamental models. Before this, and as a Director of LMC International, Mr Bentley led for many years a team advising multinational agribusinesses, energy and chemical companies, as well as governments, on all aspects of carbohydrate and protein markets. Through many different assignments he has developed a deep understanding of the fundamental structural factors underpinning agricultural commodity prices, costs, trade and production, which he uses to help clients position themselves in the face of changing market conditions.

Mr Bentley is a graduate of Trinity College, Oxford University and the London School of Economics

Shareholder in Tiba company since 1997 and production manager since 2002.

Tiba started as rice mill then it became only company in middle east in Glucose Manufacturing from rice with annual production capacity 15000 tons.

Currently he is the managing director of Tiba that is specialized in rice Glucose syrup, Maltodextrin and Fat powder manufacturing and most of rice products. Next step is rice starch manufacturing.

Mr. Hazem Zayed

Mr. Hazem Zayed is a Graduate of Commerce since 1987 and also an MBA holder from Southeastern University (Washington D.C). Since 2008 he is the Deputy MD for Corporate Finance & Business Development for Cairo Poultry Group (CPG) and also the Chief Executive Officer for Egyptian Starch & Glucose (ESGC) since 2012. He has been with CPG part of the Americana Group for the last 17 years holding several executive positions in different countries. Prior joining Americana, he was the VP of Misr Exterior Financial Investment, then joined GB Auto; automotive market leader in Egypt. He started his career in corporate banking in major financial institutions; Mashreq Bank and Delta Bank.

Christophe Sacy joined Orkila in May 2007 having worked previously at AXA Investment Managers as a structured credit investor in Paris for 4 years. Prior to that, he worked at Cargill Investor Services in London.
Christophe holds a master’s degree in Finance and Asset Management from the University of Paris IX Dauphine and a BS from NEOMA Business School.

Laia Alemany is a Graduate in Chemistry and Food Technology from Valencia University (Spain) and in Chemical Engineering from Strasbourg University (France).

She has also PhD in Food Science. She  worked as analyst in different research groups in France, Italy and Spain. Currently, she is working as R&D manager in Dulcesol Group, a large bakery company that exports to more than 40 countries. She currently has a lot of ongoing projects based on the development of new ingredients and/or new products, as well as on the adaptation of new formulas, some of them focused on its healthiness and their functional properties.

Julie Scott

Julie has 20 years of experience in food regulatory affairs. In her current role she provides regulatory direction, advice and support for the Ingredion business and product portfolio in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  She manages a regulatory team to deliver compliance and to ensure the effective approval of new products and marketing claims with notable successes including; novel foods approval, EFSA positive health claim opinion and authorisation, defining clean label and natural ingredient positioning. Julie actively represents company interests on a number of trade associations in Europe. Julie has a first degree in biological sciences from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK and a Master of Laws (Food Law) from De Montfort University, UK.

Yerlan graduated from the Kazakh National Technical University in electrical engineering and in 2000 he graduated from the Kazakh State University of International Relations and World Languages in international relations.

From December 7, 2015 – 11 August 2016 Yerlan was the managing director of JSC "National Agency for Export and Investment« Kaznex Invest . Thereafter he became the managing director of the KazInvestment Hub Division  - Industry, Processing, Food, Agriculture. He has prepared analysis on more than 30 niches for foreign investors and his role is to support foreign investments in Kazakshtan.

Currently and since its formation in Saudi Arabia early 2013, Ziyad is leading the Arasco/Cargill joint venture “Middle East Food Solutions Company” (MEFSCO). MEFSCO produces from its corn wet milling plant, feed, food ingredients and industrial products. On top of the supplied products, MEFSCO provides a wide range of technical sales services and food ingredient solutions. Previously, Ziyad was in charge of Arasco’s corn wet milling business and was part of its growth from its establishment, year 2003, throughout the JV discussions between Arasco and Cargill, JV formation, strategic planning, and up to the execution of MEFSCO’s strategy and its major expansion project. MEFSCO has invested over 600 million SAR in its new project tripling the capacity to produce more of same products, new food ingredient products and more technical sales services and food ingredient solutions.
In addition, Ziyad sits at the board of three different companies in various fields related to family business, food safety and build and construction material. Ziyad also is a board member at Alkharj city chamber of commerce and a volunteer, as a cultural transformation tool consultant (CTT), at Alghad Values Center, part of Alghad Youth Association.
