Mr. Jordi Foguet

Jordi Foguet

Jordi has been deeply involved in all the technical, manufacturing and economic fields of the PET industry, since thirty years ago.
His experience includes special PET product development and their end-use applications, recycling and up-stream raw materials technologies, energy efficient systems, cost benchmarking and production process improvements, among others.

Currently, he is the Managing Director of K-PET Consulting, S.L (KPC), a company that he co-founded at the end 2013, together with other PET Industry experts. Jordi's responsibility is to lead KPC into becoming a reference consultancy company which offers support at the technical, energy, commercial, and marketing levels to the PET Industry worldwide.
Before starting his current venture, most of his professional career took place at La Seda de Barcelona, where he was the Technical and Manufacturing Manager for all Artenius PET and Recycling Plants in Europe and Turkey.

Jordi holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master in Business Administration, from Universities in Barcelona, where he resides.

Jose Antonio Alarcon

Jose Antonio has been involved in the Polyester industry since 1995, when he joined Eastman Chemical. He continued to develop his career with Artenius and latterly with Selenis, where he is currently the Chief Sales Officer. Throughout Jose Antonio’s career his functions varied and developed as he assumed different roles in various geographical locations throughout Europe and the Americas.

At Selenis, Jose Antonio has been working on the move away from commodity products to a specialty co-polyesters, where Selenis has successfully positioned themselves in these markets.

Jose Antonio holds a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Granada (Spain).

Mr. Fernando Castro


Fernando is Operations Director at Caiba S.A, he has been working in the PET industry since 1.995.

Caiba is a preform converter, bottle producer and supplier of in-house & wall to wall operations that has been recently acquired by private equity Nazca.

His career in PET started at Continental PET where he was Purchasing Manager for Spain and was leading a team implementing cost reductions at all European sites.

He went on to work as a consultant until he joined Caiba in 2.001

Dr. James Nixon

James Nixon

James is currently Chief European Economist at Oxford Economics, where he is responsible for delivering the Global Macro Service for Europe. He is also responsible for OE's commodity and oil price forecasts. He brings to Oxford Economics extensive experience having worked both in the private and public sectors. James was in charge of the international forecast at the Bank of England and was forecast coordinator at the European Central Bank, regularly presenting to the policy making committees of both institutions. He was for seven years Chief European Economist at Société Génerale and was most recently Chief Economist at TheCityUK, the trade federation that represents UK financial services. He holds a PhD in applied macro-econometric modelling from the University of London. James has a keen interest in resource constraints and the limits they imply for growth and is currently studying for a part time degree in Natural Sciences with a view to doing further work on integrated climate assessment models.

Mr. David Swift

David Swift

David Swift was educated in UK studying Biochemistry at the University of Manchester and, subsequently, gained a Masters degree in Toxicology from the University of Surrey.
David joined Shell's research laboratory in Sittingbourne, Kent (UK) in the Crop Protection business but moved to Shell Centre in 1980 to work initially on global regulatory submissions. Several wide ranging assignments followed, including product management in different business units and work in the Chemical Strategy and Planning unit before joining Shell's PET business unit in 1997. During this period David gained an MBA from Henley Management College/Brunel University.
David transferred to M&G Group in May 2000, with the purchase of Shell's PET business, working as Global Marketing manager for the Resins Business Unit. In March 2007, he joined PCI PET Packaging Resin & Recycle Ltd. (PET & RPET) and subsequently became the owner.
In November 2015, PET & RPET was acquired, along with other PCI companies, by Wood Mackenzie and David continues to work in PCI Wood Mackenzie as a Director of Research, PET & RPET.

Antonello Ciotti

Antonello Ciotti is a graduated engineer from the University of Florence with a MBA degree from the Bocconi University in Milano. Since 2004 he is  the Global Commercial Director of Equipolymers, and Amministratore Unico of Equipolymers SRL. Equipolymers is a fully owned subsidiary of MEGlobal B.V., Netherlands.

At present Antonello is  Chairman in CPME the European association of the PET manufacturers and Corepla the Italian Consortium for recycling of plastic packaging

Josep Jimenez

Josep Jiménez, Sales Director of SIDE since the beginning of 2016. Previously, he was Export Manager of SIDE since more than 12 years, with a big experience in the American market.  He was been involved in the marketing strategy of the company, to develop new channels of comunication with the customers.  SIDE was founded in 1975 and from the first day has been committed with the new technologies and the new developments. From 1994 SIDE is supplying PET blowmoulding machine with more than 600 units worldwide. Also SIDE is now introducing in the market new developments for PET bottles like the Thandle systems to get the best PET bottle with handle. Josep Jiménez has been doing presentation of the Thandle system worldwide, including direct presentation for the principals manufacturers in differents industries, interested to move from HDPE to PET.

Patrick Schiffers

Patrick Schiffers graduated from the University of Mannheim in Germany.  His educational background is business management, marketing and psychology. Patrick is the CEO of the recently-formed joint-venture between Avantium and BASF, Synvina. Before that he was Director Strategic Marketing and for eight years Marketing Manager and later Marketing Director at BASF’s Intermediates Division in Hong Kong (Asia). He has an extensive track record in the international intermediates business, mostly with BASF.

Christoph Niederhuber joined viscotec in 2012 as Area Sales Manager for South America. His fields of work are strategic market development and development of technical concepts for specific customer applications in case of SSP and decontamination of PET as well as processing of rPET to final food approved sheet. Paloma Cruz

Ms Paloma Cruz graduated from the University of Extremadura with a Degree in Chemical Science. She started her professional career in the PET field in 2005. Being a Quality Manager has developed several R&D projects and redacted administrative and technical applications for food contact under EFSA, FDA, Health Canada and Swiss regulations. Since 2014 is partner at Extrapolymers, where she works as a Technical Consultant, advising customers to enhance their productions and products, and fulfill legal requirements regarding food contact, Health and Security.
