Edward serves as the CEO of an investment subsidiary arm of Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) and former Director of Policy Analysis and Advocacy at the same Foundation for 6 years. He is responsible for articulation, designing and implementation of various policy reform proposals on competitiveness & business environment, providing investment advisory services including sourcing and structuring of strategic investment projects and facilitating market entries.  He is a graduate from the University of Dar es Salaam with M.A. Economics.

Mr. Chuka Mordi is the MD / CEO of Union Dicon Salt Plc. He was Partner and Co-Founder at CBO Investment Management, which invested in Union Dicon in 2014. 
Union Dicon is acquiring substantial farmland across Nigeria, and has a 5yr strategy to cultivate over 20,000 Ha, & invest in Starch & Ethanol processing across Nigeria.
Mr. Mordi is responsible for oversight of the firm's strategy and investment activities and currently sits on the boards of CBO portfolio companies.
Chuka Mordi was previously Head of Infrastructure Financing at First City Monument Bank Plc, prior to launching CBO, and he has over two decades of experience in Finance & private equity investing.

Mr. Paul Miyonmide Gbededo

Paul Gbededo, a Fellow of the Polymer Institute of Nigeria has been  the Group Managing Director  / Chief Executive Officer of FMN since 1st April, 2013. 

Paul was educated at the Polytechnic of North London UK where he obtained Graduateship of Plastic and Rubber Institute and Associateship of National College of Rubber Technology in 1980, and holds MSc. Degree in Polymer Technology (1981) of Loughborough University of Technology, UK. 

An alumnus of Lagos Business School, Advanced Management Programme 3, Paul also attended an Executive Programme at Harvard Business School in 2013. 

Paul’s over 30 years career with FMN Group started at Nigerian Bag Manufacturing Company Plc (1982 – 1998). There, he acquired extensive experience serving in various managerial positions and rising to General Manager Production and became the first Nigerian Production Director in 1996. 

IN 1998, Paul moved as General Manager/Director in charge of Fertilizer Operations, a Division of FMN, pioneering development of the product, “Golden Fertilizer” the first choice of Nigerian farmers.

He also served as the pioneer General Manager/Director for Golden Pasta Company Limited, now a division of FMN – which has grown to become Africa’s biggest pasta plant. Paul attended Pasta Machinery Use, Maintenance and Operation at FAVA, Italy in 2005.

In July 2012, Paul was elevated to the position of Managing Director, Agro-Allied business with responsibility to implement FMN Group’s backward integration policies, programmes and initiatives. 

Paul, who has a keen focus on results, is fully engaged in mentoring career development of Nigerian Managers as well as expatriates.

Mrs. Daisy Eresu

Daisy Eresu is a Senior Agricultural Officer (Agronomy and Extension) and presently is Head Cassava Program in the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) and Project Coordinator Agriculture Technology Transfer Cassava Value Addition. Her mission is to transform subsistence cassava production to a commercialized, profitable and sustainable sub sector to improve food and nutrition security, household income and exports on the domestic and regional markets. She has worked on several Cassava projects since 2005 and has seen budget allocation to an “orphaned commodity” increase from government and development partners favorably support cassava processing at community and industrial level. Daisy is a Board Member of Uganda Tea Development Agency Limited (UTDAL), she does consultancy work and enjoys working with grass root Home Economics/Family Life Education programs.

Dr. Nhamo Nhamo

Nhamo Nhamo (PhD) is a research Agronomist whose career interests are to develop and disseminate innovative crop production technologies for wide adoption by farm families in Africa. He has vast experience (over 20 years) working on technical innovations which contribute to the reduction of yield gaps in cassava, maize and rice systems. His work directly contributes to integrated soil fertility management, soil health, use of ICT in agriculture, development of decision support systems, crop simulation modelling, climate adaptation and sustainable agricultural intensification. Dr. Nhamo has published on these subject areas. He is involved in capacity building, supports crop value chain actors, youth agripreneurs and innovation systems which directly benefit smallholder farmers. Currently, Dr. Nhamo works on crop production systems and is based at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture offices in Lusaka.

Mr. Mark Nelson

Mr. Ifeolu Bamgboye

Ifeolu obtained B.Agric in Agricultural Economics from University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and M.Agric in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development from the same institution in 2008 and 2013 respectively.

He joined Psaltry International Company in 2014 and was made the Extension/Raw Materials Manager of Psaltry International Limited in 2015, where he is involved in the strategic planning of company raw material needs, implementation of outgrowers program, managing of over 2,000 outgrowers and mapping out of actors within Cassava Value Chain. He has been involved in many Agricultural Value chain projects and work closely with several NGOs including International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Cassava Adding Value for Africa (C:AVAII); GIZ etc. He is the Psaltry Project Manager for West Africa Food Market Programme where he designed and implemented a 2000 Nucleus Estate Programme and conducted extensive market research on cross-border trade especially in the Nigeria-Niger Corridor.

Mr. Rafael Flor
As Director, Mr. Flor oversees the Foundation’s YieldWise Initiative which aims at promoting market-based solutions and innovations to increase efficiency of priority value chains to reduce post-harvest losses by half. 

Mr. Flor has two decades of progressive work experience in international and development institutions, academia, and the private sector. He has worked in sub-Saharan Africa, North America and Latin America. 

Before joining the Rockefeller Foundation, Mr. Flor was a Senior Program Advisor in the Office of the Director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University. Mr. Flor has held positions with Armajaro Trading, the MDG Centre West and Central Africa, the United Nations Development Programme, Columbia University, and Escuela Agricola Panamericana, Zamorano. 

Mr. Flor has served as a member of the World Food Programme’s Working Group on Productive Safety Nets, World Food Programme’s Latin America and the Caribbean Knowledge Sharing Steering Committee to Support Hunger Eradication, Peer Reviewer of the 2006 Environmental Performance Index, and member of the United Nations Millennium Project Task Force on Hunger. Mr. Flor holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University and an Agricultural Engineer degree from the Escuela Agrícola Panamerica, Zamorano (Honduras).

Mr. Chali Mwefyeni

Chali is Head, Commercial and Agriculture Banking for Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco). He is responsible for developing and driving the bank’s commercial (SMEs) and agriculture banking strategy, growth opportunities and developing/embedding a high performance culture within the team. He has been at Zanaco since 2013, having earlier worked at the bank between 2008 and 2011 as Senior Relationship Manager, Agribusiness.

He has over 13 years’ experience in the financial services and agribusiness sectors with roles that covered Relationship Management, Agriculture Insurance Underwriting and Agriculture Extension Services. Chali served as an Account Executive in Agriculture Banking at Stanbic Bank Zambia Limited, Assistant Underwriter in Agriculture Insurance at Madison General Insurance Limited and Extension Cordinator at Dunavant Cotton Zambia Limited.

Chali has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Zambia, a Diploma in Insurance Studies from the Zambia Insurance Business College Trust and Master of Science Degree in Development Finance from University of Stellenbosch.

Mr. Makarand Arvind Joshi

Makarand is a business development professional at Praj Industries - a global leader and supplier of ethanol technology and manufacturing plants. Makarand holds a degree in Petrochemical Engineering and Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Pune, India. With industry experience spanning close to 15 years, Makarand has worked along a wide spectrum of ethanol industry – from proposal engineering & establishing an ethanol plant to sales & business development in regions like India and Africa. He possesses the techno-commercial acumen on the African ethanol industry.

Makarand has represented Praj at various events organized by FO Licht, IBC Informa, All India Distillers Association (AIDA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), to name a few. In addition, he is an avid traveler and sportsperson.

Mrs. Dewi Boediman

After finishing her study Chemical Engineering at Gadjah Mada University (Indonesia), Dewi joined Inter Aneka Lestari Kimia, a market leading- building chemicals producer and plastic compounder.





Starting in an R&D function, she obtained an MBA from Prasetya Mulya Business School (Indonesia) and ended up being Vice General Manager before moving to The Netherlands.

Presently Dewi is working as Business Liaison Europe for Enviplast, a biodegradable plastics replacement product based on cassava starch.


Enviplast is a product of Inter Aneka.


Dewi also holds a certificate in Biobased Economy and is an avid proponent of a sustainable society.

“After university I decided to go Farming for one of the farmers in our region, while farming we introduced one of the first GPS systems in the market. This is where is fell in love with technology in farming. I just knew this what I wanted to do and to go into further.
After 4 years on the farm  I got offered a position at CASE IH as a Precision Farming Specialist for South Africa in 2012, this soon expanded into the rest of Africa. My first time traveling into Africa and it was love at first sight. Today I'm working as a Corporate farming Specialist for CASE IH focusing on project across Africa.”

Mr. Louw Burger

Born into a South African farm family 62 years ago, Louw’s first career was in the law followed by 21 years in international finance, first for Citibank and then the South African banking giant ABSA. Louw left institutional life in 2000 to pursue a 3rd career as an entrepreneur which led him to Nigeria where he and his wife, Tukie, founded the cassava pioneer company Thai Farm in 2006 (http://www.tfinigeria.com/). This business was finally sold to the Nigerian food giant, FMN Plc in 2016. Louw currently consults in agric while pursuing his vision of a million ton a year cassava to syrup operation across 10 countries in Africa.
