Agri Feedstock Suppliers Sought for Booming Biobased Chemical Market.
Find out more at BiobasedChemAsia 2011

Last year, Wilmar International formalized a joint venture with renewable chemical company Elevance Renewable Sciences to build a world-scale biorefinery. The facility will be located within Wilmar's new integrated manufacturing complex now under construction in Surabaya, Indonesia, expected to come online this year. The joint venture will produce high-value performance chemicals, advanced biofuels and oleochemicals using multiple renewable oil feedstocks, such as palm, mustard, soybean, jatropha or waste oils.

World Economic Forum forecasts the biobased chemicals market to reach USD 230bn by 2020, accounting for 9% of overall chemical production.

Neil Burns, managing partner for US-based consultancy Neil A. Burns said in an interview that "by partnering with Wilmar, Elevance has access to a wide array of Asian feedstocks". He liked the venture "because it demonstrates a far-sighted willingness for Wilmar to pursue a balanced feedstock approach to the business."

Above is just one example of how renewable chemical players are tying up with agribusiness companies to capitalize on opportunities in the biobased chemical industry.

As an agribusiness industry player, you too can claim a stake in this growing sector and discover how to excel in biobased production with the right partners. All you have to do is attend the BiobasedChemAsia conference held in Shanghai on 14-15 April 2011.

This 2 day conference will lay out the guidelines & considerations in developing biobased building blocks, unveil first-hand experiences of biobased projects in Asia, and provide market outlook of renewable feedstock supplies & more.
