Bolivia-based steel manufacturer ESM announced plans for the construction of a cement plant with the support of Brazilian companies Votorantim and Camargo Correa for development of the El Mutun project in Bolivia. Cimentos de Portugal SGPS SA (CPR.LB), said it was investing EUR190 million to build a new integrated clinker and cement plant in Brazil. Construction of Jamaica's second cement-production plant is expected to begin when Cemcorp gets the approval of the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), the Ministry of Energy and Mining and the parish councils of St Catherine and Clarendon.
