We are pleased to have ChemLocus and Honeywell as confirmed speakers at the 10th Phenol/Acetone & Derivatives Markets Summit in Bangkok on 5-6 March. Demand for certain petrochemical materials are forecasted to grow, especially in Asia where a 9% annual growth is expected over these five years. Companies such as LG Chem and Kumho P&B Chemicals are expanding their existing capacity, with LG Chem's plant in Daesan expected to produce 420,000 tonne of cumene per year starting this first quarter, while Kumho P&B's will produce 900,000 metric tons of cumene and 300,000 metric tons of phenol annually starting 2013-2014. Demand for caprolactam is expected to increase, with Asia becoming the main driver for the demand, and is forecasted to account for 69.5% of total global demand in 2020. This encouraged Asian producers in China, India, Taiwan and Thailand to increase its capacity to cater to the needs. Total capacity expansions are predicted to reach 200,000 tons per year by 2015. This rise in caprolactam production in Asia leads to concerns of reduced import demand from Europe/US. Hence, how will this impact the trade flow and the capacity supply projection in Europe/US? And what will be the consumption trend for caprolactam, and the key drivers for growth in end use markets? For the answers and to obtain an overview of the cumene/phenol market in South Korea and the caprolactam market analysis you should make plans to attend the 10th Phenol/Acetone & Derivatives Markets Summit! Here are two key sessions from industry majors:
