Indonesia's tire and auto market is poised for high growth. The surge in domestic demand for rubber increased to 7% or 3.2 million tons in 2013. In fact more rubber plants are coming up in the country, such as the plant in Cilegon, Banten province, by Chandra Asri and Michelin to be completed by early 2015. There is also lot of traction on the tire manufacturing front - with Taiwan's largest bike tire manufacturer, Cheng Shin Rubber's plant planned in Jakarta and Maxxis Tyres' planning to complete its EUR 235 million plant by 2015.
