Recycled PET market is growing in the US, with some reports stating that PET bottle recycling has increased 53 percent in 12 years. Many recycling facilities are coming up in USA and many are deploying better technologies - for instance, CarbonLite, one of the world's largest producers of food-grade rPET, has raised their output quality to near-perfect purity, following their installation of Bühler's state-of-the-art SORTEX sorting technology. Other key recyclers using state-of-the-art technologies include Verdeco Recycling Inc. that manufactures post-consumer PET resin for food packaging at its 50 million pounds per year facility in California. Further in the wake of China's Green Fence Policy, North American recyclers are forced to ramp up quality control systems of their rPET.
