ABSTRACT Partially Oriented Recycled Polyester Yarns Within SUPERTEX project (www.eco-supertex.eu), the usage of Recycled Polyester from Post Industrial (PI) and Post consumer (PC) scraps for Texturized Partially Oriented Yarns production has been exploited. The presence of Polyethylene (PE) and adhesive in post-industrial PET scraps is promoting degradation reactions during processing, so the blend have been optimised to successfully spin the granules. Texturise partially Oriented Yarns have then been produced at large scale and they have been woven and knitted with conventional machineries and finished by applying the same processes and protocol used for Virgin PET achieving same performances. |
