Lead Economist at Timetric claims, Myanmar government flagship programs such as the National Transport Master Plan will promote industry growth over the next five years. Indeed, transport would boost Myanmar’s economic development, spur industries such as manufacturing, tourism, agriculture and oil & gas. The government has identified the priority in its transport infrastructure development with an ambitious list of projects.
Supporting the government is Japan who announces to offer US$885 million in loans and grants and to compile a detailed plan to facilitate a boost in its official development assistance program. JICA, assisted in creating Myanmar’s National Transport Master Plan and YUTRA, will be speaking at 3rd MTL! Some projects JICA is currently supporting are - the development of Yangon-Mandalay express train, elevated road and Myanmar Automatic Cargo Clearance System (MACCS).
