The
cement industry is moving towards sustainable development and
also looking into Biomass as fuel-feedstock for their production
plants. Recently, Lafarge has announced a multi-year agreement
to grow and develop carbon-neutral biomass grasses and woods for
use as fuel at the Lafarge Cement Plant in Bath, Ontario. This
joint project is part of the company's ongoing public commitment
to reduce its carbon footprint including the use of renewable
and local fuel alternatives.
Today,
plantation owners, cement and steel producers, refiners, pulp/paper
and biofuels producers are integrating biomass as part of the
value chain to achieve energy efficiency and cost savings.
At
BiomassWorld 2008, you will get to meet such players and over
80 participants from the above sectors.
