Dear [name],

In December 2009, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced $120 million of financing for AzMeCo’s Methanol project in Baku, Azerbaijan.

EBRD’s investment marks another important milestone in the development of Azerbaijan’s inaugural Methanol plant which began construction in 200. When completed, the plant will have a production capacity of 720,000 tons of methanol per year using Azerbaijan’s Natural Gas reserves for feedstock. AzMeCo’s own investment in the project is $70 million, and the total cost of the project is expected to be over $300 million.

AzMeCo plans to produce Methanol for export and eventually diversify the plant’s output to include urea and ammonia.
