Get the European Commission’s view on Algae Biomass as a BioEnergy source at 2nd Algae World Europe

The April 2009 EU directive [where did you get April ’09 from? I can’t see it in the source article]  on BioEnergy saw the establishment of new petrol and diesel blending specifications including 10% BioEthanol (by volume) and 7% biodiesel (by volume) targets, exceeding the current European Union target of 5%. More critically, the directive also established sustainability criteria for biofuels.

[more importantly, I fear the target is actually Spain’s target as the article is about Abengoa in Spain. I can’t find other literature that states the increase in target]
