Dear Executive,

Coca Cola opened a new chapter in the PET bottling industry with the global roll out of their iconic Plant Bottle. The plant bottle replaces the petroleum derived Mono-Ethylene Glycol (MEG) with a sugar-cane ethanol derived MEG, which is in turn mixed into terephthalic acid to manufacture this innovative new PET plastic. Last November, the company made headlines when they touted their plant bottle in Copenhagen, in line with COP 15. The launch of Coke’s innovative new Plant bottle however, has raises key questions including:

Are end-users no longer interested in petroleum based (traditional) PET? Do PET producers need to change their production methods? How will this trend influence the MEG markets?

The answers to these vital questions are not straightforward, but Coca Cola’s presentation at 11th CEEPET & Balkans Markets should put things in their proper perspective! Ms. Cees van Dongen, the Director of Strategic Planning at Coca Cola Services’ (EU Group) will be sharing in-depth insights on “Coca-Cola’s Plant PET Development” at the conference, and addressing key questions and concerns.

On that note, I hope you are already making plans for the 11th CEEPET & Balkans Markets conference meeting in Istanbul on 7-8 June 2010. Don’t miss this industry showcase of latest trends, technologies and developments that have a direct impact on the European PET markets!

Registrations are already coming in for the conference, and even at this early stage, the event is already shaping up to become the European PET industry’s networking meet for 2010. In fact, we have even set aside a special group fee for companies who wish to sign up with their teams to maximize networking opportunities!

Click on the “register now” button below to confirm your seats.

Look forward to meeting you in Istanbul for the conference!

Best Regards,
