Concerned over April 2010 PVC market trends? Seek experts' clarifications at
5th Global Chlor-Vinyls

Dear [name],

Are April 2010 PVC trends reflective of 2010’s PVC markets?

…Operating margins have been squeezed significantly this month (April 2010) as PVC producers have conceded to lower prices to conclude deals amid VCM feedstock costs that have not reflected the softening trend in PVC prices. 6 April, Plastemart

“TPC expects sales to increase by about 50,000 tonnes this year with the output from Vietnam, while production in Thailand will be maintained at 500,000 tonnes. Domestic sales volume has dropped this quarter mainly due to the political strife. After the expansion projects of PVC and VCM get off the ground in the last quarter of this year, the PVC capacity of the Thai base will go to 550,000 tonnes per year. The company will export the excess to Asean, the Middle East, South Africa, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand. It is also interested in penetrating India.”  28 April, The Nation

“Estimated PVC consumption up 31% in Russia” 19 April 2010, Unipack.ru

“Poor demand in Europe shifts PP, PVC to Turkey”  10 March, Alibaba.com
