Indonesia expects to start producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) from coalbed methane (CBM) before 2014, which would make it the first country in the world to turn methane into LNG, a high-ranked official said.

“Australia is aiming to produce LNG from CBM by 2014. If we want to be the pioneer, we must beat them to the punch,” director general for oil and gas at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, Evita Herawati Legowo, said as reported in the ministry’s official website. What are the existing LNG projects in Indonesia and what are the status? Hear all these at the Cost Effective CBM Exploration, as Dr Barak gives an overview of the LNG projects in Indonesia, and shares his knowledge on CBM exploration techniques gathered from more than18 years of local and international exploration experience in oil-gas and coal areas in various geographical territories.

If you are a current stakeholder or prospective investor in the CBM sector, this is your best opportunity to post your questions and hear from Dr Barak’s real experience pertaining  CBM district exploration, target development, reserve assessments and CSG acreage management, Gas-in-Place estimations (deterministic and probabilistic) and technical evaluation of the CSG prospects, qualitative and quantitative analyses of sedimentary basins, analysis of existing geological data, generation of exploration targets and producing technical reports, management of CSG exploration drilling programs, quantitative assessment of the CSG prospects, including desorption, gas composition, adsorption, saturation, coal tests, permeability and reservoir properties.

Do you have a CBM question  in mind ? Send them to us and we will include it for discussion during the workshop.

Look forward to our meeting in Jakarta!

Yours Sincerely,
