In a key strategy to reduce carbon emissions and avoid deforestation, the Indonesian government announced that palm oil producers are to use degraded rather than peat land for their plantation expansions. Existing palm oil plantations on peat land that no longer have the option to increase harvests via new peat land acquisition, will need to apply better techniques to improve their current yields for maximum economic value.

In light of above, the top major question for palm oil producers now would be: Can successful and sustainable palm oil cultivation in degraded land be carried out?

For the answers, you definitely cannot afford to miss out on the 2nd Palm Oil Summit in Bali, to hear first-hand from invited speaker Dr Peter Lim as he shares how he managed to achieve sustainability in palm oil cultivation on peat land. He will reveal his proven ways in his presentation on:

"Best Agro-Management Practices for Oil Palm Planted on Peatland"
