4.8 MW waste-to-energy plant commences operation in Thailand

Posted on : 20 Jan, 2020

A 4.8 MW waste-to-energy plant has begun commercial operation in Thailand in December, 2019. The project is developed by Progress Interchem (Thailand), where B.Grimm holds a 48% stake.

The plant will use industrial waste as feedstock that will be converted to energy using pyrolysis technology.

Under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA), between Progress Interchem (Thailand) and Bangkok-based Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), the latter will use the energy generated from the plant.

For more on waste-to-energy projects in Asia, attend CMT’s Recycled Energy Asia 2020 (featuring dual tracks – 6th Biomass & BioEnergy Asia and WtE Asia 2020) in Bangkok.
