Dr. Rachel brings a decade of experience in developing decarbonisation strategies for companies. She has delivered over 10 decarbonisation projects for various industries spanning agriculture, technology, manufacturing, logistics etc. Her work spans companies in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia with combined market capitalisation of close to US$100B.
Pertaining to agricultural waste, she supported one of the major agribusinesses (owns and manages ~300,000 hectares of plantation) in Indonesia to establish decarbonisation strategy, including establishing valorisation pathways for palm oil mill effluent leveraging technical experience from her doctoral research on biomethane utilisation from palm oil mill effluent.
Having worked on both the supply side (i.e., agricultural waste valorisation) and demand side (i.e., growing biomethane demand to decarbonise corporates' Scope 1 emissions), Dr. Rachel brings a distinctive edge to decarbonisation: her cross-sector portfolio gives her a systems-level view. Where one client presents an emissions challenge (i.e., as agricultural waste) she identifies opportunities to convert that liability into a decarbonisation solution for another. This ability to connect problems across value chains translates into more creative, commercially grounded strategies.
Dr. Rachel holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. Her work on biomethane has been published in international peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Environmental Management and the Journal of Cleaner Production.
