Tunyawat is a seasoned scientific officer and global executive with a proven track record of developing and commercializing innovative new products, ingredients and processes by combining his expertise in nutritional science with a passion for satisfying unmet customer and consumer needs, and for driving business growth.


Tunyawat is responsible for building the infrastructure and capabilities of Thai Union’s Global Innovation Center. Using internal and external resources, he is developing a portfolio of projects focused on bringing greater scientific substance and sustainable innovation advantage to our global branded tuna business. Under his management, GIC’s latest innovation includes Yellowfin Tuna Slices, the world’s first pre-sliced, preseasoned tuna made from whole yellowfin tuna loins. Yellowfin Tuna Slices received the 2018 Seafood Excellence Award in the category of Best New Foodservice Product category at the Boston Seafood Expo North
America held in March. Additionally, Yellowfin Tuna Slices have been chosen as a finalist in the 2018 Seafood Excellence Global Awards at Seafood Expo Global in Brussels.


He started his career with National Starch and Chemical, Thailand (now Ingredion) before joining Mead Johnson Nutrition as Research and Development Director Asia-Pacific. During his seven years with Mead Johnson, Tunyawat's responsibilities were expanded beyond Asia to include significant European and Latin American projects. In 2008, Tunyawat rejoined Ingredion where he assumed dual management roles as Senior Director, Technology- Asia Pacific and Global Clinical and Infant Nutrition.


Tunyawat received his PhD and Master of Science in Food Science and Technology from Iowa State University, and
received his B.S.in Biotechnology from Mahidol University in Thailand.

Carrie co-founded Avant with Dr Mario Chin in late 2018.  Avant operates in Singapore and Hong Kong.  At Avant, Carrie provides the vision, guides the strategy and supervises the implementation. The Company’s goal is to become a leading sustainable and affordable cellular agriculture technology company.  The pilot product focus of Avant's technology platform is fish and seafood tailored for the food culture of consumers in China and Asia.

Aurélie gained most of her 14-year experience in the commodities and agribusiness space in various investment and financing roles, notably at Credit Suisse, Noble Agri (now part of Cofco), Standard Chartered and Credit Agricole. In her last role at Credit Suisse, she was part of the impact investing team in Singapore where she worked on impact and sustainable finance opportunities.

 

She is the founder of the Singapore-based association Women in Agribusiness (‘WOMAG’) which engages in leadership training for women in the industry. Aurélie spent most of her career in Asia but grew up in France where she graduated with a Master degree from Sciences Po Bordeaux.

With more than 25 years of experience in the business industry and agroindustry, Marc Debets is Apexagri and ByO group CEO. He is the former General Manager of various international industrial and technical businesses. Aside from chairing strategic think tanks such as the procurement and BtoB committee of the MEDEF, he is also engaged in the board of FARM, Foundation for World agriculture and Rurality.

 

Marc is deeply passionate by the ecological transition of agricultural private sector and farmer’s empowerment. He founded Apexagri together with the leading Maisadour Cooperative Group, to offer targeted agribusiness solutions and technical expert advice in value chain transformation and optimization, as well as the development of agricultural sectors in Africa, the Middle East and worldwide.

The Future Protein Mission will grow Australia's protein industry by $10b by 2027. The scope of the mission is centred on principles of sustainable growth delivering high quality, affordable and nutritionally optimized protein for Australia. It will develop protein-based industries along the full value chain from production to the customer, delivering premium protein ingredients and products, addressing the rapid growth of the protein-based sector. From microbes such as yeast through to insects that can create wealth from waste, we will transform low or no value side-streams through advanced biomanufacturing.

Yanti leads strategy development and program implementation to ensure the sustainable sourcing of raw ingredients, including palm oil and cocoa through Cocoa Life - Mondelez International’s global cocoa sustainability program, ensuring that Mondelez International’s snacks are made the right way. Yanti also oversees the development and regional execution of the company’s human rights due diligence approach, implementation of forced and child labor monitoring and remediation, external stakeholder engagement and investor relations. Her work bolsters the Cocoa Life program, which co-creates solutions with partners and farmers to make cocoa farming a prosperous business, and build communities that take on their own development while conserving natural resources.

 

With its $400 million investment over 10 years, Mondelez International is committed to empowering 200,000 cocoa farmers and improving the lives of more than 1 million people in cocoa growing communities in Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Indonesia, Dominican Republic, India and Brazil. By 2025, all Mondelez International chocolate brands will source their cocoa through Cocoa Life. Yanti’s 20+ years of experience means she is best placed to develop and implement sustainability programs that encompass agriculture, the environment, and human rights.

 

Yanti has expertise in formulating businesses cases, securing investment, international trading and relations, corporate government affairs, and business and commercial acumen. Her understanding of sustainability approaches and related cutting-edge innovation and technology make her a trusted member of the Consumer Goods Forum Forest Positive Coalition, and a board member of the Cocoa Sustainability Partnership and Indonesian Cocoa Trade Association.

 

Prior to joining Mondelez International in 2013, Yanti was responsible for leading commercial and sourcing operations and the sustainability supply chain program at Mars Incorporated in Indonesia. She holds a Bachelor in International Relations and a Masters of Business Administration on Finance

As a senior consultant for By.O Group and APEXAGRI, Axel now supports large companies in the agri-food industry to better understand their value chain and strengthen their ecosystem, while transitioning towards more sustainable practices.

Jean-Yves (“JY”) Chow leads the Agri, Food & Beverage and Retail Sector Coverage within Mizuho bank across Asia Pacific ex Japan. JY joined Mizuho in 2015 and has over 18 years experience in the Agriculture and Consumer Food Supply Chain. Prior to joining Mizuho, JY spent 7 years with Rabobank in Hong Kong originating, advising, and financing Food and Agri transactions across Asia for Asian and Multi-National Corporates, Government Authorities, and Financial Institutions.


JY established his first-hand sector proficiency by managing the Chinese supply chain of Neovia (now ADM), a global animal nutrition group for five years. He has been a regular speaker on financial press and industry seminars. JY has a Master of Food Science from ONIRIS, Nantes Atlantic College of Veterinary Medicine, Food Science and Engineering, France.
