Recycled Plastics in EU Food Packaging: Risks & Compliance Challenge  
 

Abstract: The presentation addresses the assessment of Non-Intentionally Added Substances (NIAS) through semi-quantitative screening approaches to ensure consumer safety while meeting the EU Green Deal targets of plastic packaging by 2030. Analytical techniques are used to identify volatile, semi-volatile and non-volatile contaminants in rPET, rPS and rPO, highlighting the importance of sampling strategies, decontamination monitoring and effective information transfer along the supply chain.
