The company has following post-harvesting focus areas: agri-warehousing, origination and procurement, collateral management, trade facilitation, lab testing and logistics.

StarAgri adds value at every stage of the agriculture processing value chain. Leveraging its tie-ups with 34 banks and financial institutions, StarAgri currently holds commodities worth INR 75 billion across 200 collateral management locations and manages over 800 agri-warehouses across 16 states with a total storage capacity of 1.5 million metric tonnes. The company has implemented best global practices across all levels of its operations to ensure that the interests of all stakeholders are addressed effectively and efficiently.

In 2012, the Company joined hands with IDFC Private Equity, India's leading infrastructure financing company. This was IDFC's first investment in the agri-services sector, recognizing StarAgri's unique and innovative model that not only protects agricultural produce but also connects farmers to centres of consumption and sources of financing to bring better realizations for farmers and make available agri-financing at lower cost. In 2014, Temasek Holdings, the Singapore-based investment company, picked up a significant minority stake in StarAgri, recognizing its potential to be global player.

As India's largest post-harvest solutions organization, StarAgri recognises the challenges facing India's agri sector and is focused on creating significant efficiency and reduce wastage across the value chain to deliver genuine cost benefits to both farmers and buyers.
