Alcom focusses on developing carbon removal projects – CDR from agri biomass waste through its unique combined heat and power technology(CHPB).

In this role, he is responsible to engage with a variety of stakeholders and develop decarbonization strategies for corporates through renewable energy and carbon markets including transition to a sustainable path.  He has worked with governments and multilateral organizations in the development of mitigation projects, and he is currently using this experience to create international climate-related projects, involving different types of technologies, such as CDR.

 

Jiro has more than 15 years of experience in the areas of climate change and sustainability, working for both, the public and private sector.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and has a master’s degree in development from Hiroshima University. He also obtained a certification in climate and renewable energy finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

In 2023, Sojitz and Kyushu University, which has advanced R&D in direct air capture technology that captures and condenses CO2 simply by passing air through a membrane system, jointly established Carbon Xtract. Prior to joining Puro.earth, Mr. Lee served as Head of Southeast Asia Coverage at MSCI, and at IHS Markit, now part of S&P Global, where he worked with governments and exchanges on their ESG disclosure regimes and carbon credit registries. He started his career in JPMorgan’s Risk Management Advisory team and is the author of the CorporateMetrics Technical Document.
Mr. Lee received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Engineering from Stanford University. He is now based in Singapore with Puro.earth, a partner company of Nasdaq, and is a member of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs.

He joined ANA in 1998 and has over 25 years of experience in the airline industry. In the past 5 years, he has been engaged in various projects pertaining to the control and reduction of GHG emissions within the ANA group with a particularly strong focus on introducing sustainable aviation fuels into the Japanese market.
He and his team have worked very closely with SAF producers in the US to inspect fuel quality at each step of the manufacturing process and other areas critical to usage, including transportation logistics and fuel blending for loading onto aircraft. This successful flight was a major step toward full-scale sustainable aviation fuel use for ANA. With this experience, his team was able to establish a procurement supply chain from Europe to Japan together with a leading European SAF producer. He also played a key role in launching the “SAF Flight Initiative Program” for ANA’s corporate customers.

He previously gained experience at Leonardo Aircraft, working in the quality department for the final assembly of the M346 aircraft. In March 2023, he left his position to launch his innovative start-up, Limenet, with the goal of fighting climate change by developing a technology inspired by the natural carbon cycle. This technology accelerates carbon storage in the oceans while simultaneously reducing acidification. A year after the founding of Limenet, Stefano Cappello was named among Forbes Italy's 100 Under 30 for 2024.

Dr. Friedmann recently served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Fossil Energy at the Department of Energy where he was responsible for DOE’s R&D program in advanced fossil energy systems, carbon capture, and storage (CCS), CO2 utilization, and clean coal deployment. More recently, he was a Senior Research Scholar at the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia. He has held positions at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, including Chief Energy Technologist.

 

Dr. Friedmann is one of the most widely known and authoritative experts in the U.S. on carbon removal (CO2 drawdown from the air and oceans), CO2 conversion and use (carbon-to-value), hydrogen, industrial decarbonization, and carbon capture and sequestration.

Ian previously worked at the Alberta Energy Regulator. There, he helped develop a number of methane emission reduction regulations, helped develop an online reporting platform, served on numerous committees for emission reductions and quantification of emission sources. Prior to this, Ian was a Director at Cap-Op Energy, a sustainability consulting company specializing in emission reductions in the energy industry. He led offset development and quantification projects related to carbon capture and storage, enhanced oil recovery, biofuel development, renewable energy, and methane destruction.

 

Ian is based in Calgary, Canada, and completed mechanical engineering at the University of Calgary and a Master of Science degree in Management and Engineering of Environment and Energy from Ecole Des Mines de Nantes in France.

From 2013 to 2018, he was the CEO of Carbon Engineering, where he successfully developed the company into a recognized global leader in CO2 direct air capture, piloting industrial scale systems in under two years. In addition, Adrian has spent 15+ years commercializing industrial hydrogen, fuel cell, and pump technologies, serving as CEO of Rotoliptic Technologies, CTO of Plug Power, and CTO of Cellex Power Products. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Victoria, BC Canada with specialization in Energy Systems, Cryogenics, and LNG.

Jeremy is an international energy executive with a successful track record of acquiring and leading businesses in emerging markets.
 
Danube CCS Ventures is developing Europe’s first full chain CCS operation located in Central Hungary. It will collect more than 500 000 tonnes of biogenic CO2 per year from the yeast fermentation and anaerobic digestion processes of Pannonia Bio, one of Europe’s largest biorefineries. The collected CO2 will be transported approximately 10 kilometres via pipeline and injected into permanent geological storage in a saline aquifer of the Pannonian Basin. The project will generate EU-certified carbon removal credits for the voluntary carbon markets. 
 
Prior to founding EMOV, Jeremy was the CEO of Nobel Upstream, a London based independent oil and gas company. Under his leadership, Nobel Upstream acquired and developed a portfolio of upstream energy assets in the US Permian Basin, the UK North Sea and the Caspian region. Jeremy also spent 13 years at BP where he held management roles in Upstream Technology Ventures, Investor Relations, Exploration, Air BP and BP’s Russia business. During this time, he served on the boards of BP joint ventures in Spain, Georgia, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Russia and Romania.  A graduate of the universities of Indiana and Stanford, Jeremy is highly skilled at aligning stakeholder objectives, building high-performance teams and creating effective partnerships.

Prior to pivoting to climate tech, Natalie was part of two teams that were acquired by Google, Wildfire Interactive and Waze. There, she worked with Fortune 50 clients and opened new markets and verticals.  Natalie also was VP of Sales for Yondr, a hardware team focused on removing cellphone distraction from shows, events, and spaces.   

 

Natalie holds a BA from UC Berkeley in Literature with a minor in Ballet, a Post Degree Diploma in Fisheries and Aquaculture from Vancouver Island University, and a MSc in Geography from the University of Victoria. Her research was focused on marine microbiology and oyster genetics.
