He has joined MM in early 2022 and before that spent almost 7 years with Nestlé leading fibre-based packaging in their research organization. Before that he held various positions in paper and related industries. Alexey has a paper engineering background and doctoral degree in paper physics and converting.

Joined Beijing Huateng Hightech Corporation in 2004 to develop business for its lamination adhesives in South East Asia.  Oversaw a major restructuring of the product range to ensure full compliance with all EU legislation. Collaborated on
various sustainable packaging and flexible packaging projects with major customers, brand owners, and other stakeholders in ASIA. Conducting regular workshops on lamination and functional coatings before joining Tomypak Flexible Packaging Sdn. Bhd. in 2021.

Doctorate from -NDRI Karnal and graduated from University of Allahabad and started his career from BHU, Varanasi and working at IIP for last 12 years. He is working for last twenty years in academic and administrative positions. His domain is Packaging regulation, food packaging, sustainable packaging &package design.

 

Under faculty exchange programme visited University of Copenhagen, Denmark (EU under East West Food Scheme). He represented IIP at International forum i.e, World Packaging Organisation (WPO) & Asia Packaging Federation (APF), Jury member of World Star award, Asia Star Award and Sri lanka Star award (2019-23). He guided four Ph. D students. Granted two patent numbers and acknowledged 21 patent design for IIP.

 

He is Editor in Chief of Journal of Packaging Technology & Research (Springer), Associate Chief Editor Asian J of Dairy & Food Res, Associate Editor Asian Post Harvest Technology, editorial board of Processed Food Industry& Packaging India.   He is Chairman of TXT 23 and CHD 16 committees of BIS and Rapporteurs of Scientific Panel on Sustainable Packaging (SP) of FSSAI. He is also leading safer and sustainable packaging (SPG) group of NetSCoFAN.

 

Dr Alam has published more than 100 research and technical papers in high impact referred journals, apart from delivering several invited lectures both in India and abroad. He has authored five books and edited dozens of proceedings and technical souvenir.

 

Organized several conferences/workshops of national/international stature (WPC, ISPI, APA and APC) for promoting packaging industry.

 

He received numerous awards and recent one is Mumbai Achievers Award- 2022. He spearhead and introduced new courses like MS, M.Sc and CPE,

In her current position, Agnes plays a key role in helping SATS advance its sustainability goals, particularly in achieving 100% sustainable packaging by 2030.

 

Prior to joining SATS, Agnes was a Packaging Specialist at Nestlé, where she spearheaded the discovery of innovative solutions in the field of fibre-based packaging. Her work in this regard spanned across weight reduction of material, barrier paper solutions, and reduction of plastic by converting secondary packing from multi-layered laminates to a fibre-based pouch that is recyclable and repulpable in the waste paper stream. During her time there, she rallied multiple stakeholders to work collaboratively in identifying technical solutions for paper to survive the distribution chain in various markets, and enabled multiple commercial launches.

 

Agnes has over 20 years of experience in the print and packaging industry, dealing with fibre-based packaging. That scope has enabled diverse experiences across various sectors including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), electronics, luxury, and most recently food.

She has been a Packaging Development Specialist for RFM Corporation, and Packaging Scientist for Universal Robina Corporation - both food and beverage manufacturing companies in the Philippines. Pollene also joined Sealed Air Corporation, a global packaging materials and equipment supplier, as a Territory Manager. She was with the company for 6 years and has led a series of packaging development projects for B2B and B2C sectors. During her stint with Sealed Air, she supports all the packaging development activities in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders: from business proposition, evaluation, installation & commissioning, to commercial launch.

 

Currently, she works as an Investment Manager for Emerald technology Ventures’ Sustainable Packaging Fund. Emerald is one of the first venture capital firms to focus on sustainable industrial innovation. From intelligent water efficiency, to smart packaging, to innovations in electrification of transport and industrial automation, Emerald has been at the forefront of sustainability for many years. Based in Emerald’s Singapore office, Pollene covers the sustainable packaging sector wherein she is involved in all phases of the investment process: sourcing, evaluating, selecting and supporting novel packaging start-ups from early diligence to exit.

David has a background in Financial Services and was a partner with Ernst and Young (then Ernst & Whinney).  He has since been CEO of a major Australian textile company with a global customer base, been involved at Board level in a substantial dairy company, was CEO of a flexible paper packaging company and in 2010, co-founded the company now known as Zipform Packaging. 

 

Zipform Packaging has since established itself as the global leader in linear formed, paper bottom, high barrier rigid fibre packaging. David was initially CEO but in 2018 took on his current role as RDQI Director. David is presently working on sustainable fibre packaging solutions with a number of leading global FMCG companies. Zipform Packaging is in the process of completing its investment in a new AUD 8.0M manufacturing facility in Melbourne to be commissioned in August 2023. David is currently serving on an Australian Standards Committee developing the new Australian Standard Test Method for testing the re-pulpability of fibre packaging, as well as being previously involved on the industry panel guiding the Australian Fight Food Waste Cooperative Research Project.
