Dr. Gideon Tan began his professional journey with an MEng from Imperial College London, entering the industry as a Technical Executive in the Downstream Division of FGV. In this role, he managed significant responsibilities at oil and fats refineries and manufacturing plants, where he developed a profound understanding of technical operations.


As he advanced in his career, he took on a strategic role in the CEO office of FGV Holdings Berhad, coordinating group-level technical initiatives. His contributions were vital in implementing a range of improvement projects across the supply chain, encompassing research and development, estate management, and production processes.


In 2020, he was appointed Head of the Transformation Management Office at FGVHB. In this capacity, he leads initiatives to enhance business and operational efficiencies, drives strategic enhancements, and oversees the development of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. His work is pivotal in advancing FGV's commitment to the Net Zero Agenda, focusing on integrating solar, biomass, and other green technologies in alignment with the national energy transition roadmap.
